Matthew Green started his interest in Napoleonic wargames as a teenager, playing with Airfix polythene figures in the late 1970s. He didn’t quite grow out of it, but migrated to 15mm white metal figures in the late 1980s. He started to focus a bit more seriously on his hobby after redundancy in 2005.
His education was mostly scientifically based, though a final year degree course in History at Cambridge in 1978/79 gives him a tenuous link with serious history. He then qualified as a Chartered Accountant and pursued a professional career as accountant, back-office manager and finance director. In 2005 to 2008 he took a further degree in Economics at University College London, to assist with one of his other hobbies, public policy and politics. He is also an occasional birdwatcher.
Matthew lives in the Clapham Common area of London, England, and can be contacted at firstname.lastname@example.org
